We conduct special short courses on interesting projects
Foundation Level - Easy Summer Dress

6 Sessions (2 hrs/session, 12 hrs total)
* Suitable for beginner level and new-to-learn sewers.
* Contents: Learn to sew a very easy sleeveless American design dress (Style as shown in picture. No lining; can be styled as day wear or evening wear)
Lesson 1: Body measurement, draft pattern
Lesson 2: Fabric layout, cutting, marking
Lesson 3: Sewing
Lesson 4-6: Sewing, fitting.
(Skills: proper pattern notations, understanding fabric grainlines, how to handle prints in layout, using transfer paper, handling seam allowance, ironing technique, facings, skirt hems)

6 Sessions (2 hrs/session, 12 hrs total)

Suitable for fashion school students, and those who are intersted in fashion design, or have basic knowledge and experience in sewing or working with patterns

From framework to more indepth understanding. Basic principles and methods in Draping technique

When do you use draping method? Difference from 2D pattern making; and relationships between the two

We provide standard size mannequins in classroom practices

We provide calicos and all tools

Students will drape own designs, and translate them to paper patterns

1 - 3 students per class
Mon - Friday classes
Oriental Lace Cape

6 Sessions (2 hrs/session, 10 hrs total)
* Suitable for those who knows hand sewing and simple sewing machine operation. Not suitable for beginners.
* Contents: Learn to sew an Oriental Lace Cape with front buttons closure. Versatile for both formal and casual wear.
Lesson 1: Body measurement, draft pattern, ironing
Lesson 2: Fabric layout, cutting, marking
Lesson 3: Making collar, Sewing
Lesson 4-6: Sewing, trimming.
(Skills: proper pattern notations, understanding fabric grainlines, how to handle lace patterns in layout, using transfer paper, handling seam allowance, ironing technique, lining & interfacings, trimming lace hems)
Mon - Friday classes

8 Sessions (2 hrs/session, 16 hrs total)
